Cadet Teaching encourages students to enter the teaching profession. It gives them an opportunity to be in the classroom and help the teacher with many different teaching activities. Many Cadet Teachers get to not only grade papers and help with bulletin boards, but also work directly with students and their school work. Many students get personal satisfaction out of knowing what it's like to see students succeed when they had a hand in that success.
Cadet Teachers must maintain good attendance and personal appearance. They must always be on-time for class and act in a professional manner. They also turn in journals every week. The journals include a daily entry and also a weekly summary that talks about classroom management, curriculum and instructional process, observations of the classroom teacher, new things they learned and which learning experience was the most valuable.
Cadet Teachers receive one credit each semester. |
